Welcome to A Picket Fence Life - my little corner of the world open to anyone who ever envisioned their own version of a perfect “picket fence” life only to discover that despite their best-laid plans, life rewrote the script without approval, and with all the subtlety of a rogue goat came head-on through their picket fence. Along the way, fences got splintered, boards were broken, the gate fell off, and complete disarray has become part of the scenery. Yet, through it all, you’re still here, standing with a completely different version of the picket fence you ordered. Sometimes it’s in moments more beautiful than you ever dreamed, and other times, in the wake of heartbreak you never imagined possible.

A little about me…I am the proud mom of four grown kids—one heavenly, three earthly. I’ve survived heartbreak and unimaginable loss, and I’m a work-in-progress at reinventing as I navigate a life broken up into before and after. Working to reclaim parts of me that once were fun and a little carefree in a world that stole the core of who I once was. Here, I share stories of life, growth, resilience, grief, and learning to laugh again…with a little trauma humor sprinkled in. Because even in the messy, imperfect moments, I choose to believe life can still be a little wild, a little joyful, and a lot real. We just have to work a bit harder to feel it.
